The Trolling Angles app makes it easy to create a new depth curve chart configuration by measuring the line angles while deploying your trolling line, and to use the chart immediately. You do not need to enter any descriptive information such as lure type, speed, line size, or sinker weight.
However, if you wish to save and reuse the same configuration later, you probably want to give it a recognizable name and define the other attributes. Select the “Edit” tab with an icon which looks like a pencil. According to Android conventions, the tab is at the top of the screen, and according to Apple conventions, it is at the bottom. On the Android, you can also use a swipe to select the edit panel.
In the Edit panel, enter a unique name for this configuration. Also enter a lure name, line type, trolling speed, weight (if used), and any notes you wish. None of this information has any effect on the depth curve. It’s used only for you to recognize, filter, and retrieve the configuration later. (The gauge field is to indicate that the configuration is used in a multi-speed water current speed gauge.)
To return to the calibration panel, select the Calibrate tab with an angle icon. Or go to the simplified Trolling screen with the fish icon. There is no “Save” button. The configuration will be saved automatically when you return to the Main screen or Calibrations List, and will then be available in the list of configurations.
For best results, create and save configurations for your favorite rigs on a relatively calm day, and when the sunlight and background makes it easy to see the line. Then, you can use them on another day when conditions are rougher.
