Gauges

For a sinking rig, heavier than water, the trolling depth curve is heavily dependent of the trolling speed. A Trolling Angles Gauge is a set of several calibrations for the same rig at different speeds. By analyzing the relationship between trolling speed and the depth curves of a gauge, Trolling Angles can provide two important features.

Variable Speed

Calculate a virtual depth curve for any speed within the range of the gauge. The user can enter any speed and any depth to determine the line length necessary to reach that depth.

Water Current

Determine the speed and direction of the water current, by using the GPS, compass, line length, and the measured line angle. Once we know the water current speed and direction and the GPS speed and direction over ground, Trolling Angles can determine the actual speed of the rig with respect to the water, which determines the lure’s action and depth.
